I looked back a couple pages and couldn't find one of these so I thought I would open one, so post up your location,  you never know you might find a new hunting buddy near by!

about an hour s.w. of springfield. think glanceblamm is east of springfield somewhere. think it would be neat if someone took the time to organize a get-together of illinois gbo members so we could put faces to names we see on-site. chances are it won't happen anywhere near a democrat fundraiser!! he,he,he. regards, jather....

I wish I could go, but my FOID expired at the first of the year, so unless by some miracle it shows up by friday I'll be stuck at the house wishing I was there.

You might want to check with dnr. A friend of mine was told you could only take one deer during late season regardless of how many unfilled tags you had.

pretty sure you can fill as many tags as you have left from the other 2 gun seasons,  unless they changed it.

I read through the regs online and only found this "Bag Limit: (per legally authorized permit)"  so I as long as you have permits you can take does.  also when did they implement the december 30-january 2 season?

That's good to know. My friend called and Secretia told him only one deer for that season. That weekend is new this year, they made late firearm two weekends. I used to like handgun season, less guys out there.

Actually the late deer season was the same last year depending on the county. Last year Fulton was open last two days of December and first two days of January as well as the three days in the middle of January. Depends on the county as how many tags you can get. In Fulton this year and last you can buy the tags over the counter for as many as you want to try and fill.

Yep and this would be Sangamon County. S.B. is perhaps the closest to me being near the Pontiac area and I believe that d_hiker is somewhere close to Peoria.

Am going hunting on the weekend but will have to miss friday per work.

bigbird09, Foid is currently running 50 days behind. I wish you the best on getting your card and perhaps there is still a chance depending on the date you mailed your app.

My FFL holder requires any firearms to be shipped to them via another FFL holder.  So, If I make an offer on a firearm please let me know if this is capable of being done from the start.  Please do NOT mark an item "SPF" to me until we "both" are happy with and in agreement on shipping, funds and the transaction in general.   Thanks

Although I now live in Indiana, I was raised over in Illinois. I was raised south of Decatur in Macon. Did a bunch of small game hunting back in the good ole days. Back then I dont think I ever seen a Deer or Turkey. I am told now there is quite a few Turkey and some Deer. Wooded areas were few and far between. mostly running along creek beds. There were more reports of coyotes back then. Local elevator use to pay $25 a head for the yotes. Quite a few hog farms had folks stalking around with rifles.
