powderman I agree 100 % but killing in the street is not the way. Being on a jury and refusing to be lead into a verdic you don't agree with , electing new leaders and protesting every bad judgement in open fourm is the way we have to change things and I will work that way , We have passed the soap box and the ballot box is all that stands between reason and the ammo box. Lets make America work not destory it by letting the left wear us down !

SHOOTALL. I meant no offense, I simply meant that the system we now have stinks. The pantywetters seem to work overtime to protect the guilty anymore, which brings us right back to (lawyers). POWDERMAN.  :o :o :o :o :o :o

I have to agree Charlie, lawyer right below child molesters in the scale of human waste.
99% of all Lawyers give the other 1% a bad name. What I find hilarious about this is they are such an arrogant bunch, that they all think they are in the 1%.

I'm with you Powderman.  Granted, there have been instances where people convicted and sentenced to death and later proved innocent.  But, how much doubt is there in this case?
If I agreed with you then we would both be wrong.

stubshaft, exactly!! Go ahead and give this guy a fair trial. But, lets do it in an expedient fashion. Now there talking about moving the trial to Caifornia. I can see this case dragging on for years. Look at Sirhan Sirhan, muslim nut that killed Kennedy. That piece of dog crap should have had a dirt nap 40 years ago. gypsyman

I think we all want the guy to be dead and gone for his crime . And yea I want him to get a fair trial ,convicted and put to death . And yes I realize there is a risk involved but it is the way our law reads . The reason we are in the mess we are today is because good citizens didn't wish to get involved by voting and serving on jurys. So the idea of by passing the system instead of fixing it makes little sense to me.
And yes I will cling to wanting to restore the American system to its once greatness and you cling to what ever it is that has caused you your view .
If ya can see it ya can hit it !

No reason for cases to take years to go to trial, even less reason for those condemned to death to be stealing air 30 years from sentencing. Who stretches these cases out???? Easy question, lawyers. POWDERMAN.  >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:(

So how long do we allow for appeal ? There are some on death row who are innocent , should they be sacrificed so the criminal can die faster ?

All I'm asking for is a little common sense. If there are no witness's, evidence is unclear, or questioned, yea, take some time to get it right. This guy was tackeled at the scene, gun in hand, reloading. Same as the muslim nut job at Ft.Hood. No question on either case. Lets get it over with. Give them both a trial, and convict them. There is no question on evidence. gypsyman

My point is that NOBODY is working daily on these appeals. If there is an appeal it should be a daily job, not a phone call a month. Lawyers will officially appeal a case then sit on their rumps for years instead of actually doing anything about it, effectively tying up our courts and enlarging their own paychecks. There well may be innocents on death row, don't know, but it brings us right back to incompetence of lawyers. If an appeal is made and actively worked on daily it should not take long to complete and carry out the sentence. Justice has not been part of our legal system for many years now. POWDERMAN.  :o :o

There are men being released today because the DNA evidence proves their innocence . When they were convicted 25 or more years ago there was no way to check the DNA. Had they worked every day and rushed along then WE as a socity would have killed innocent men.

SHOOTALL. I agree with that, but the innocents I worry about the most are my family, friends, and all others whose lives are threatened by the so called rehabilitated murderers walking our streets today. You have a good point though. POWDERMAN.  :o :o

In this case, killing someone would, in fact, be protecting the innocent. And again, I would not advocate the murder of any human being by the authorities. I would just encourage those authorities to place the "alleged" murderer into one of our prisons and let him be integrated into the general population and let nature take its course. We all know what that would be and I for one would not loose a minutes sleep over it.

Lawyers will officially appeal a case then sit on their rumps for years instead of actually doing anything about it, effectively tying up our courts and enlarging their own paychecks.

At least in the midwestern states almost all criminal appeals are handled by the appellate public defenders office.  They generally rotate young lawyers in and out who don't want the work of a private civil practice or the drama criminal practice.  They get paid a rather low salary compared to their classmates.  They do show up every day and work on their docket, and they do not get more if a case takes longer or shorter.  It's a matter of caseload and tax dollars spent.  If you want faster turnaround you need to hire more ADOs and prosecutors.

But if there are real ways to speed up the process of appeals I would certainly be in favor of doing so.  Most petty criminals are finished or close to finishing their sentence before their appeal is concluded.  Guilty or innocent, they do the same amount of time.

SHOOTALL. With me it's all about right and wrong. Legal, or the law, and right and wrong used to mean pretty well the same thing. Justice, and right and wrong have very little in common with LEGAL anymore. POWDERMAN.  :o :o

SHOOTALL. You bet it needs fixin. Law and justice used to be on the same page, they aren't even in the same book anymore. I still place most of the blame on lawyers, twisting the laws to mean something they were not meant to, kinda like what the pantywetters do to our constitution. POWDERMAN.  ;D ;D

Powderman , this time I only partly agree. Lawyers did in fact try means that seem questionable for sure . But the jury had to find innocent . I blame American citizens for not wanting to vote and do jury duty as much as lawyers. I blame the education system for not teaching that no matter the judges instruction the case AND THE LAW is to be decided by the jury. I blame parents for not making sure their children got the correct education. We spend so much time debating darwin and the Bible and how it should be taught in school and graduate kids that have no clue how to be on a jury or blance a check book  ??? .
Back when " it takes a village to raise a child " rolled off HRC lips it became clear just where we were and the direction those in leadership wanted to push us.

I take my part of the blame and will vote to fix it !
If ya can see it ya can hit it !

I see no downside to following the rule of law in this case.  There's really no chance he's going to be found "not guilty" with such overwhelming evidence.  Talk of vigilante "justice" and lynching only cheapens us all. We need to start acting like a civilized society again.  Due process is a good thing.

When I was in grade school the school system took us to the county courthouse to see how bad guys are handled and to  the county jail to see what goes on there, the stench of urine was horriffic. We also went to a state prison. HEH, I remember a real tough looking inmate with a meat cleaver in the butcher shop repeatedly jabbing the cleaver into a meat block while lewdly ogling the girls as he licked his lips. Scared the crap out of them. I seriously doubt that the schools do anything like that anymore, probably offend the pantywetters. POWDERMAN.  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

We went to court also along with that. The day we were there the daughter of the judge was in my class. We saw several cases - one was for a guy selling adult toys before such was legal. They had a bunch in a box , as they were about to show the evidence the judge yells wait . the bring that up here , he looks in the box and has a odd look on his face. The guy was guilty and admited so . The judge banned him from the state and a policeman had to carry him to the state line and let him out. Yea it was early 70's good old days

Well, now that I'm feeling a little better from the flu, I'll put in my two cents worth. Gentlemen, I wish to state that this is just MY opinion. I do understand the feelings of rage, frustration and fear for friends, family and loved ones that many of us feel. Most of us are GOOD human beings, no matter our religious convictions or the lack there of. Powder Man, I feel right along with you and could quote Scripture on it (I am learning  :) ) but I'm not sure now whether that is allowed any more. BUT, more to the point is that I also STRONGLY agree with SHOOTALL in that WE the people have failed to do OUR job as ADULT CITZENS in protecting and enforceing the justice in the legal system. We feel more for US rather than for doing our obligatory duties from courts to schools to churches to family. Just my opinion and I'm sticking to it ;) May God Bless you all and all yours. (hope I don't get in trouble for saying that. If I do, then I'll be outa here  :D )

Actually, he's below a rabid animal.  ;) The rabid animal had no way to know, but this puke has the power of reason. Maybe, someone will walk up to him put a gun to his head or a knife to his throat, take care of business, and go about his or hers daily routine. He should just be a little bump in the road. I hate how this scumbag is getting the coverage he is getting!! >:( >:(
