Some dirtbag picked the wrong home to break into here in NH:
http://www.wmur.com/news/26417688/detail.htmlWARNER, N.H. -- The New Hampshire State Police said Sunday one man died, while an elderly man sustained minor injuries, in a shooting incident.
Officers said the shooting happened early Sunday at 148 W. Main St. in Warner. The homeowner, 82-year-old Gordon Smith, was being treated for minor injuries, police said.
Investigators said a man, who they believe to be in his 20s, sustained a fatal gunshot wound to the head. An autopsy has been scheduled for Monday, the Medical Examiner's Office in Concord said.
Neighbors said when they first heard about the shooting, they thought it was Smith who had been shot.
"I was downstairs, about 8:30 or 9 o'clock, and I saw the state police truck out there," said neighbor Derek Windle.
Neighbors said they believe Smith lives alone. One neighbor described Smith as a "tough guy," but said he is "the most pleasant guy you could imagine."
"It appears that they did not know each other. We're still investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident, but it appears at this time they did not know each other," said Senior Assistant Attorney General Susan Morrell.
Morrell said they didn't believe there was any current danger to the public.
Smith had not yet returned home by nightfall on Sunday.
N.H. Atty. Gen. Michael A. Delaney, State Police Col. Robert L. Quinn and Warner Police Chief William Chandler said they are investigating the shooting incident.
State police officers said they are asking anyone who may know or have any information about the shooting incident to contact their headquarters at 603-223-4381.
