.222 rem pistol load
« on: January 12, 2011, 04:46:29 PM »
as the title say's i'm looking for a pistol load for the .222 rem. i've got a TC contender in .222, 12" barrel. hoping to find a combination that will be fairly effeciant. right now i'm shooting hornady 40g v-max's. it shoots pretty good with these so i was thinking of sticking with the 40 grain v-max, just not sure what powder to run with. any help would be appreciated. oh by the way, this will be used for shooting coyotes/fox. thanks.

Any load that will work in a rifle in will work in a handgun. That said, If your looking for max. velocity use the faster burning powders.

I use H4198 in a 10" 222 behind a 45 HP Velocity is almost 2700 fps. Seems accurate tho i only use open sights right now.
