Handi Rifle Scores A Double !
« on: January 13, 2011, 07:27:26 AM »
I took this pair of Coyotes with my .44 Remington Magnum Handi Rifle yesterday morning. The larger one is a male taken at 50 yards. The smaller one is a female taken at 49 yards after she came back to see why her partner in crime wasn't running with her. I should add that those ranges are from my back door !

Around here we make hats, slippers, coats, vests, long johns, gloves, throw rugs, boot liners, pencil holders,  under shirts, and place mats for formal dining out them and then eat whats left over. Waste not, want not.
::) ::) ::)....<><.... ::)

in reality, unless we have the pelt tanned for ourselves or sell it, we usually leave them in the woods or throw them in the dump....<><....:)

Don't be silly...ya do both, but the hat's got a couple of big holes in it when ya nail em with a .44.

Fred, that's wonderful.  Thanks for posting my favorite coyote family portrait.  I too have shot several off the back porch.  Michigan has a season on Coyotes, but landowners can shoot them anytime "when they are doing, or about to be doing damage".........never knew one that wasn't ;)

We were so over run with them a few years ago that our DEC officer (now retired) Said once coyote season is over to start calling them coy dogs.

Good job on the yotes!  We have open season year round here but I've never killed one.  Doubt I'd do anything with the carcass either though.

Good job!  I like 'em still and posed like that.  How much do dogs weigh there?  I'm seeing them getting bigger around here...good eatin' of all those pet cats I suppose...

I shot one out my back door last year...at a few feet away, and I live in town on a city lot....kill 'em all.

Was there enough time for leisurely reload, or was it all hands and a..holes trying to get that second cartridge chambered in time?

nice work.  I'm so ready to get out and try to break in the new .223.  Finally had enough light to be able to get out and do some night hunting, but my foid expired at the first of the year so I''m stuck at home.

Was that with the screen door open or closed?

Dad was know to shoot magpies with a 22 thru the screen door with a .22.  Have seen him kill them on the wing with the 22 and a head shot on a running chicken.  The apple did not fall close enough to the tree for that kind of shooting.
