Repaired 30 30 Back home
« on: January 13, 2011, 12:56:48 PM »
UPS dropped by with the once, non firing rifle.    Loaded up 10 primmed cases and everyone fired. ;D
I'm now a happy camper. Remington replaced the striker with the new style. Reworked the trigger, now down to 3/12 lbs. ;D Replaced the hammer spring and test fired. Hats off to the repairman. If the snow gets out of the way and the temp gets a little higher, she will have to go to the rangs with the new Redfield Revolution 2-7x33 accu range. I feel like a teenager with a new girl friend. ;D
Come on sunshine.

That's great Jim, too bad they couldn't do as good with the Whelen!  :-\

Could you snap a quick pic of the new transfer bar with the hammer cocked? We're wondering what the new one looks like in comparison to the old one, or maybe the only difference is how the two pieces are connected.

I'll try to get my daughter over here to make a good pic of the newer one. It's a little heaver that the old one.
They did a super job on the trigger. I think it was close to 50 lbs  ;D before they fixed it.
Yes, you are right about that Whelen. I am still not totally set on forgetting about another one.
As of now, I am very happy with the fix on this one.

When did you send it in? Some new members are wondering how long service is taking now.

Thanks Jim and thank your daughter for us.  ;)

It took about 4 weeks, but that also included the Holidays. So all in all, I don't have a complaint. I thought about taking the transfer bar out so I could get a good pic. But, there's an old saying, IF IT AIN'T BROKE, DON'T FIX IT.
