Winchester 270 parts?
« on: December 16, 2003, 03:59:35 PM »
I have a Win. model 270 which is a .22 rimfire pump action that needs a firing pin and possibly other parts. The rifle is not in the Gun Parts catalog and this is the first one that I've seen. It's a fairly cheap looking rifle with an odd plastic rear sight that uses a numbered disc for elevation adjustment. The front sight is a plastic affair that was pressed onto the end of the barrel. If anyone knows of a place to find parts for this rifle I would appreaciate it.  Thanks.    greer

Did you talk with them?  They sometimes have parts but so few that it's not worth kisting them.  call the toll free number and ask if they have the parts you need. the number is 866-686-7424.

You may also try JackFirst.  They have a huge catalog of parts.  I've found them a little pricey but they often have what I need-email- http://www.1stingunparts.com/     or call 605-343-9544 .  It's in SouthDakota..

gunnut69,
Thanks for the advice. A new parts source would be helpful. This is one of those jobs where you will quickly exceed the value of the gun with just a few parts and a little labor. I'm a part time gunsmith/school bus driver and help from someone with a little more experience would be much appreaciated from time to time.  Thanks again.   greer

I know what these are as my brother has a M270.  There was also a 190(autoloader) and a lever, although I forget the model number.  They were built with 'sintered ' metal receivers.  They were in effect formed of metalic powder and chemicals(glue?) formed in a die under pressure and heat.  www.e-gunparts.com shows a parts blow up and the nomenclature.  That is the sight for 'Numerich Arms/Gun Parts Corp'.  Try the Winchester sight for a list of dealers in obsolete parts.  Good luck..   We'll be glad to help as we can..Jerry.
