26 inch weather shield pro hunter barrels
« on: January 15, 2011, 02:50:26 AM »
I got a new Cabela's shooting catalog in the mail and noticed they listed a 26 inch weather shield pro hunter barrel as a new item. Any body else heard of any new items from Thompson or is the factory moving the big news for 2011?

I see that they are on the TC Arms website. I really like the length of the 26" barrel, and the flutes. The price of these barrels are $100 less than the 28" pro hunter barrels, anyone know why? Anyone have one yet that they can give a review?

I have it in 30-06 from Cabela's. Used 20.00 coupon and paid 229.  + ship. It shoots Rem. 180 gr core-lokts at 1.5 in and reloads (speer 180 s with IMR 4350 powder) into an inch. Also can fire repeatedly with little barrel heating. No stringing.

Are these barrels stainless, blued or blued with a weather resistant coating?
