Stock options for Handi Rifles
« on: January 16, 2011, 02:56:02 AM »
How does one find out what stocks are available from H&R? I've seen all the neat ones forum members have posted pictures of but most of them are not listed anywhere on H&R's web site. At least I can't find them. I think I've used the link in the FAQ for the price list, it list some but not all.

Hi & Welcome,

A lot of the stocks that members have are no longer available.  The best source of handi stock IMO is the H&R Classified forum.  Also, if you go to the H&R website and look at the barrel accessory program order from they list a couple of stocks.  Go back the FAQs and search for stocks as I think there are a couple of stocks with part numbers listed that are not on the barrel acc. order form.  Also, you can get aftermarket stocks from Gunstocks, Inc, (GSI), Choate and Boyd's Gunstocks.  Brownells also lists some H&R stocks along with the new H&R Handigrip stock.

I feel nosey this morning, is there a story that goes with your screen name? ;)

Thanks BB, the reason I asked is someone posted a picture of a H&R deluxe trap stock and I couldn't find it on the web site. The reason for my online name is my obsession with spring turkey hunting.

The Topper Trap stock and forend are on the retail parts list page in the FAQs, seems to me the stock is $90 and the forend $35.  ;)

My bad Tim, I don't know how I missed that. I like the idea of a recoil pad and pistol grip for some of the kickers! Does anyone know if the deluxe stocks have CUT checkering?

H&R stocks used to have hand cut checkering, but I think they're all machine cut now.

I went with the GSI stocks.  I like the mannlicher forend and I'm a lefty so they're the only ones without ordering 'custom' at a higher price.

The H&R stocks are nice, but kinda bulky looking and a little crude. One size fits all never fits me, so I got a custom set and I'll be shaping them to my taste.  Otherwise the Buff Classic stocks seem the nicest, most expensive of course.

Think as if you LIFE depends on it... IT does..!  Be Well...
