Researching a 5" Model 94
« on: January 17, 2011, 12:19:45 PM »
I'm shopping around for a 22lr revolver for informal target shooting. What kind of accuracy can I expect from this Taurus?  Is 2" at 15yds a reasonable expectation from this model?

thanks,
Ian

I don't know about a 94 with a five inch barrel but I have one with
a two inch barrel that surprises everyone that shoots it. I never
did anything but plink with it but you can walk a tin can a good
distance with it. It is a keeper.

How long have you had it and how many rounds do you have through it?

I have a four inch 94 that I really like.  I have put several thousand rounds through it plinking and informal target shooting.  With good ammo it will hold a 2 inch group at 25 yards easily if I do my part of holding it steady.  At 15 yards I have ended up with one ragged hole about 1.5 inches accross with 50 rounds through it on numerous occasions.  It does not like some ammo and will shoot poorer with it so you need to find what yours likes.
