Octagon 45 ACP barrel

Just looking at toys today at a local gunshop and saw a Contender barrel tucked in the back of the case.  It was a 10 in. octagon barrel in 45 ACP.  This is one of the few barrels I didn't have (that I already reloaded for) so I brought it home (and it was a bargain).

I haven't seen a 45 ACP barrel.  Are they somewhat rare or do people just hold on to them?
