The Second Amendment in a nut shell!
« on: January 18, 2011, 02:44:26 AM »
A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the People to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.

A militia is a citizen army, not a federally controlled military, or even a state controlled reserve unit. The militia can be considered any well bodied citizen that, at the drop of a flag can bear arms and defend their home and nation from any form of invasion, be it foreign or domestic. This type of citizen action is essential for the safety and security of a free state, so therefore the rights of the people to own and bear arms shall not be infringed. Plain and simple.

Having been oppressed by a professional army, the founding fathers of the United States had no use for establishing one of their own. Instead, they decided that an armed citizenry makes the best army of all. General George Washington created regulation for the aforementioned "well-regulated militia," which would consist of every able-bodied man in the country.

You are right. Only the Congress or the states can actually CHANGE the Constitution. The only way to actually CHANGE it is via a constitutional amendment. Congress or the states can initiate that, and the amendment has to be ratified by a fixed number of states before it takes effect. The Constitution can also be changed at a "Constitutional Convention,"  But that would open the door for more changes or new Amendments being added.. They really do not want to go down that road, that is why the rely of the Judicial system to intrepid the Constitution.

Why do you think the Liberals want to stack the Judicial system, so they can get the Judicial system to push there agenda..  Judges should have term limits as well.

Well put and simply stated.

Definition of MILITIA
1: a part of the organized armed forces of a country liable to call only in emergency b : a body of citizens organized for military service
2: the whole body of able-bodied citizens declared by law as being subject to call to military service

Wrong!!!!!!!  They are not to be used or controlled by any Military. Are you using a liberal dictionary?

Search, "The Militia Act of 1792" Wiki has a good definition. I know its old but the date closest to the intention of, is the most truthful. (Bonus question: Has TMA of 1792 ever been repealed?)
