Beautiful Blond with face lift and new style transfer bar
« on: January 19, 2011, 04:50:44 AM »
Her are a few pics of the rifle with the new transfer bar. The pics are not very good, but maybe someone can see a little difference. As I told Tim, it now fires every time so I'm not going to take it apart to show the transfer bar. "If it's not broke, don't fix it."
She is a good shooter using Rem 150 gr. core lks.psp, with 34 gr of H 4895.
Being BLONDE, she like to be gently held and squeezed lightly, especially with that 3.5 trigger pull that Rem. did for me.

probably a stupid question but is that an aftermarket stock or redone pallet wood? I really like it.

Thanks Jim, H4895 works great in one of my 30-30s too, only I use the 125gr Nosler BT.  ;)

I just picked up a new Compact Superlight 44mag yesterday, t-bar looks just like the old one, I can see the head of the rivet on the release side. Going to the range next week to check it out.

Looks like a factory stock that's had a great refinishing job done, got one like it myself, but I didn't do the work, I'm not that good a wood worker!!  :D

Yep
That's an old pallet wood stock set. Just sanded (rasped) out the pistol grip and sanded. The finish is Tru Oil. Took a little time but it turned out OK.
I had a post in once before, but had it on my 45 70. Picked up a set of BC furniture for the 45 70, so I put the redo on the 30 30.
She's a nice sweet little Blonde thang ;D.

Jim,

Keep the Blonde happy, you don't want her gettin' half your stuff in family court. ::)

Everytime I look at those 2 rifles i can't believe they are the standard stocks redone. I reaaallly reaaallly like them. I guess it time to go pull the stock off of my USH and work on it. The light wood with the tru oil finish is to me remarkable. I guess i'm easily pleased or you guys did really nice work.
