Where to start?
« on: January 19, 2011, 07:41:23 AM »
Ive always wanted my own cannon.  So, Ive been researching the web for cannon barrel makers.  I would like a 1/4 or 1/3 scale civil war replica cannon, something like a 6 pounder.  Mostly for use of making a big bang.

Other than this forum there doesnt seem to be much information on this subject.  So, I am asking who makes quality, safe barrels.  I dont really need it to fire a projectile, although that may be fun, and I am looking for a 1 inch or so bore.

I looked at Grey Star Technologies which seems to provide alot of information with their barrels, are they a known company or do you recommend others?

Thanks, Russ

I suggest you use our search function and look for posts here on  Greystar.  I also suggest you search Google for  Greystar.

The results of the search should speak for its self.

Well, the sticky at the top with the sponsors is a good place to start. I've only got experience with smaller guns, but many guys here have larger cannon and quite a bit of experience with the sponsors.

Welcome aboard ! ;D

This IS THE PLACE for old cannons ,second to none IMHO Plus you didn't buy something B4 getting educated .

Thats not usual . GOOD LUCK

The only advice I will give you is ,unless you have a willing crew keep it small .
My 1/3 Dom parrot is as big as I can handle .

I have shot my little guns far more and even in the backyard .
