I have a quick "sanity check" question...If I am looking at a 22 hornet youth model, is the only diff between that and my current hornet, the pull length of the stock?

For the most part yes .But I think most youth models also had 20" bbl . I do not recall there being a 20" Hornet bbl though. IIRC the youth bbls are the same as the superlites. Tim should be along shortly to either corret me and give you better info than I can. Kurt

That gets real confusing because some models are called just compact or youth and have a standard 22" barrel and short stock like the 7mm-08, others like the Hornet have come in a variety of combinations, but as Kurt said, if it has a factory 20" barrel, it will be a Superlight contour, barrels are measured end to end. Some have sights, some don't.

Just recently they added a "Compact Superlight" 44mag available by some distributors, it has a 20" barrel and short stock, but a standard barrel contour much the same as the 45 Colt Carbine, so the 20" barrel length doesn't apply to big bores.
