I'm considering a 1950s vintage Winchester Model 43 in 218 Bee, but I'd like some feedback on these guns as I've never even handled one much less shot one.
What is your opinion of them as far as function and accuracy? Are there any known "gotcha" issues that tend to crop up frequently with these rifles, ie barrels burn out easily, chambers blown out, bad actions, etc?
I'm interested in opinions of the potential accuracy as well. I handload, so I'm confident with load development I can get fairly close to the most out of the rifle, but what exactly is "the most"? Minute of angle at 100 or minute of racoon at 25, but only if it's a fat one and standing still?
Thanks.
