marlin 45/70 cowboy
« on: January 20, 2011, 07:08:06 AM »
anyone know the best place to go to get a marlin 45/70 cowboy? or know anyone who is selling a used one?  I've seen them listed new for as little as $562.00 and as much as $895.00 but no one seems to have them in stock.  it's all back order.  I had to pass up a good used one for $300.00 because I was out of funds at the time, but have been told there are "tons" of them for sale used.  some people discover what the recoil is like and they put them up for sale.  the first time I shot one the recoil did surprise me.  I was not expecting that much.  it had a hard buttplate and the felt recoil was a lot more thasn the (padded) 12 ga recoil I was told to expect.  but it was managable, even for a lite frame such as mine.. sorry for the rambling?  any guidance out there?

Try www.gunbroker.com and see what they have. Sometimes you can find a good deal on there. Also, welcome to GBO.
