My Piece at a time contender
« on: January 20, 2011, 08:51:45 AM »
Here is a picture of my piece at a time contender. I had the frame, easy open type 2 and made the forend from black walnut, looks large but feels great in hand, barrel is TC 30 carbine super 14 and came from a member, scope base from another member, scope is an NcStar 2.7x32 from amazon, Butt grip from another member. It feel great in hand and shoots great but too cold to sight it in on paper.Have a set of loading dies that came from another member. Thanks to all who sold me the parts.

Thanks

Sounds like the Johnny Cash song - "One Piece at a Time."
"The Constitution is not an instrument for government to restrain the people, it is an instrument for the people to restrain the government, lest it come to dominate our lives and interests." -- Patrick Henry, American Patriot

It don't matter how you git it, just git it!  Looks like a cool gun, should serve you well.  It should be stingey on the recoil also, 30 carbine is a fun caliber.  Enjoy!

Yes I know all about the 30 carbine, I packed one and slept with one by the side of my cot for a year in 1952 in Korea, but mine was an M2 full or semi auto, just shift the gear leaver forward and you were full auto.

AAAaaahhhhh, nothing like an automatic transmission is there!  As fond as you were of it I know you liked trading it in for an electric blanket though.  Thanks for your service Deaconllb.

My hats off to you DeaconLLB. When I was in the army in the 60s some of the Korea vets that made careers told me stories of what Korea was like. Never forget their tales of the brutal cold you fellows experienced.
