GBO Group buy 1.5" and 6PDR size zinc round balls
« on: January 20, 2011, 09:14:43 AM »
The pop can round ball mould is still down at Rotometal if any one is interested in popcan size zinc roundball.  See the post in the classifieds for details http://www.gboreloaded.com/forums/index.php/topic,219140.new.html#new

I am considering sending two more moulds down to Rotometal for you folks, if there is an interest.

First mould is 1.5.  I need to recast this one, but as I remember ball from this one about 1.46 inches and weighs about .43 lbs in zinc.

Second mould is 6PDR diameter 3.575 inch and drops a 6 pound zinc ball.

Once I get the moulds to Rotometal they will cast some ball and see what the final cost will be .  Ballpark Estimate for the 1.5 $2 and $16 for the 6PDR.

These moulds are steel moulds made by Powder Keg.  If you wish to have some other metal cast in these mould such as lead or aluminum contact Rotometals

Is any one interested in me sending these moulds down to Rotometals so they can get some round balls?

Double D, do you have any ball park figures as to price of the 1.5 (1.46) Mold would be? Is "Powder Keg" the same  from Idaho? Thanks, BoomLover

I certainly would never want to disparage, degrade, ridicule or revile your answer, DD, but I believe he was wondering what the price of a 1.5" Dia. MOLD from Powder Keg would be.

Well let's see, 6:30 am when I posted, hadn't had breakfast or coffee yet.  Batteries went dead in hearing aid, glasses still are streaked with cutting oil from the lathe work last night., Hadn't even had a shower or shaved, nor scrubbed my teeth yet. and then you set these lofty standards for me and expect me to be able read and answer the questions right. Oh and did I mention I am elderly.

The correct answer to the question is I don't know.  But you can buy  zinc round balls cast from it for 2 bucks each.

Seriously you would have send Powder  keg and email and ask.  I have had the mould for 3 or 4 years and I think it was part of a trade.

Thank you for BOTH answers! Sorry to wake you up so early! Go back into hibernation, winter will be over in a few more months! LOL (thanks for the translation of my question, by the way!) BoomLover

Is there any interest in roundball from these other two moulds?  I would like to hear be for I go to the expense of sending them out.
