I found and listened to it also by Patsy Cline, and Patsy and Willy Nelson in a duet. I'd still like to hear the Statler Brothers sing it. POWDERMAN.

The Seldom Scene recorded a fantastic version of this song. When I shuffle off this world, I want this to be played at my funeral.
In addition, the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Will the Circle be Unbroken, vol 2, has a great version. It is sung by John Cash, and has Earl Scruggs playing the banjo.

Wow that brings back alot of memories.
Jake Hess, Big Chief , Doyle Ott, Rosie and too bad that they do not have one of the Statesman when Denver Crumpler(sp?) was singing with them!
You have to go a long long ways to find a better quartet. Jake Hess can really make a song something special!And Hovie Lister on the piano.

Yes Sir, I was. My Mom still plays piano at 86 for her Church, been doing it since she was 11, 75 years, so Gospel music means a lot to me. REAL Gospel music, no yuppie stuff for me. POWDERMAN.

Yeah powderman,
My daddy, as I have mentioned before, sang in a gospel quartet on radio for a few years and the whole family went with him on alot of the gospel singings around N.W. Louisiana and E. Texas. I attended several of the singings schools sponsored by the Stamps and Stamps Baxter schools of music.
On the YouTube video of the Statesman they mention the Statesman in concert in1952 in Ft. Worth, TX, I was at that concert!!
