Brazen coyote #2
« on: January 20, 2011, 10:28:04 AM »
At about 2:45 this afternoon this coyote was crossing the pond behind my house. By the time I grabbed the rifle he had walked into tall grass. I waited awhile with the rifle resting my hand against the door jam to the deck. After about a minute he stopped and something got his attention toward the house. He stopped and stuck his head up above the grass and I hit him just at the top of the ear. Down and dead instantly, they way I like them. That Savage with 55gr. in a .243 is a laser. 149 paces this time.

You`ll soon have them all killed there. Then you can come up and show me how to do it.

ive lived in the same place for 25 years with open fields on 3 sides. yotes used to cross the open fields fairly regular often getting shot for their stupidity.after about 10 yrs of shooting them off my front and back porch, they just refused to come within 300 yrds of my house anymore.havent shot one in years near the house even tho we have more yotes than ever.i do however find their tracks where they skirt the area staying just inside the brush line where you cant see them.kinda makes yu wonder.
