The cat will probably go and serve the jury duty believing it is his constitutional privalige and civic repsonsibilty. Unlike a parakeet who would whine about what an inconvenience it is. :D ;D

The cat could NOT possibly do a worse job than did the jury that released the B'ham, AL area cops that were shown on a dash cam beating the hell out of an unconsious man thrown from a car after it crashed. He was laying there totally unable to move while at least six or eight cops beat him with their fists and night sticks and kicked him. I'm surprised he lived thru the beating much less the wreck.

They should all be in jail themselves. It just tells cops in Alabama they can do anything they want and not have to worry about consequences. I've never seen a more clear case of police brutality and the jury said not guilty in spite of the film.

I think justice was served in that case. I believe this jury sent a message that if you intentionally try to kill a cop in this town, whether its with a gun or with your car, hospitable treatment from the police should not be expected. That guy not only hit a cop, he endangered hundreds of people in that car chase all over the county. I hope the civil suit goes just as well.

Justice is not served by the street cop. A lot of people think it's funny when a cop or 10 throw a beat down. These cops are in violation of the law. Breaking the law to get justice is an oxymoron. You take the criminal before the judge. The judge and jury decide what to do. Let the judge and jury have the dilema on what to do with them.

The system don't always give what we think is justice but when the street cop crosses the line and there are clear rights violations the criminal walks and costs the tax payers even more. The Rodney King beat down cost the tax payers millions, from law suits to riots. Was his beat down worth the tax payers dollar?

You want more bad guys in jail, press for more police education, over 80% of thrown out cases are on from bad search and siezure. Street justice wastes more money than anything else. Press for district attorneys who won't plea bargain away violent felons. Press for judges who will give legitimate sentences for crimes being comitted.

If you are wondering, yes I am very pro police. I went to the Sheriff's Academy and was a cop for a bit, till I decided this was not something I enjoy doing for a living. It takes a very special person to be a cop.

Yes he did bad and should be punished for it. The cops did even worse and should be punished as well. It is not the cop's job to be judge, jury and executioner. Just like the guy in the car they are criminals.

A good friend of mine was a cop in lou ky several years ago. He told me that in most cases the beat downs are done because the cops know that it will be the only punishment given. He said they were tired of arresting the same people for the same stuff and having judges slap them lightly on the wrist and put em back on the street. POWDERMAN.  :o :o

The nation saw the news-bite version of the tape.  The jury saw the whole dashcam video from start to finish, about 20 minutes, including the part where the criminal swerved toward and hit the officer in Hoover with his car. The police testified that that when the first officer slipped on the enbankment, they thought he had been shot. The criminal was lying with his hands under him; they thought had a gun. The jury acquitted the officers. There were no resulting riots in Birmingham. In fact, its been pretty peaceful.
If the Birmingham police feel it necesary to pull me over, I will pull over to a safe spot, turn on the interior light if its dark, put both hands on the steering wheel, and find out what they want without concern of a beatdown.

As far as the cat goes, I wonder if he is a yellow dog democrat.

The county I live in mails out their jury subpoenas according to their voters registration. So........

Is this person(s) registering their pets to vote? = fraud
OR, is this person(s) also padding their taxes with "dependents" = fraud
either way.................

The cat probably voted in the last 7 elections anyway. It is about time he sat on the jury.

The folks in Los Angeles rioted over Rodney Kings beat down. Cost the tax payers several million dollars. Not every city has the same quality of people in it.

The cops that instigated Rodney's beat down were found innocent of state crimes but were convicted under federal statutes. Title 18 USC section 242, I believe. All involved were knuckleheads from Rodney to the cops throwing the beatdown.
