End them all and bring the soldiers to home shores and you might save an insolvent nation!

+1 Gary. What are the reasons we need troops occupying foreign soil for? To keep communist block countries armor and troops from sweeping across germany?  To insure that Japans military complies to the surrender documents? To ensure the UK isn't attacked by whom? To endure Italy isn't attacked by whom? To ensure the cuban takeover of the caribean doesn't happen? Our military's purpose is to insure our nations security not that another nation gets a paycheck for our troops being in their nation.  We have what now, ten years in afghanistan? For what gain? We've had troops in Italy and Germany since WW II ended, for what gain, now that the cold war is supposedly over. I had a good time being stationed in Italy for 27 months, but I would have rather been stationed in the US, and doing that duty on our borders would not have bothered me. It would have had more purpose than spending four years at field exercises, training for war that never materialized. It would certainly be cheaper to finance our same size military here in the states, than shipping stuff around the world. call our global mission as done, send the refugees back to where they came from with a thousand bucks and better OUR nation.

  One point you all seem to be overlooking..
  The Constitution does not call for a department of EDUCATION, HHS or AGRICULTURE or a thousand other costly items, such as ACORN, ACLU, social welfare, WIC, aid to dependant children or the National Endowment for the Arts.. just to name a few.
   The Constitution does however,  require that the feds "provide for the common defense".  I am not defending the wasteful parts of defense spending and am surely not defending the exorbitant waste in the other departments already mentioned, plus thousands of other federal programs..which should not even exist in the first place !
  That dim bulb who produced the video is by the title, trying to blame conservatives for wasteful spending.  I hasten to remind him that it is the conservatives, who are right now trying to rein in the liberals from the spending spree they have been on for 2 years.  The Obamanites have piled on more debt in 2 years than all the previous administrations combined !
   Scheutzen;
     This is your second post under political issues where you have tried to denigrate the military.  When anyone seeks to condemn the  draft evaders,      ...who shoved their responsibilities on others !    ...just stow it !

  Instead, go after the liberal spendthrifts and the ne'er do wells who are always trying to encourage disrespect for our military..
If you don't want the truth, don't ask me.  If you want something sugar coated...go eat a donut !  (anon)

Yep, by finishing bailouts started by the Rebublicans--except for the Chrysler bailout which was started and finished by the Rebublicans.  All due to the Rebublican policy of no financial regulation on Wall Street.

Gentlemen, you are both correct. The democrats and the republicans have spent us into the world's greatest debtor nation. At least since WWII each party has spent more that the preceding party regardless of what they say. I liked what Reagan said, but he spent more on welfare than Carter. Who would have thunk? Like someone said, one snake with two heads.

Ironglow, if you cut everything except social security, medicare and military, you are still deficit spending. Now which of these would you cut? Does the words of our founders to stay out of foreign entanglements mean anything? the big bankers and military industrial complex loves you.

Junior, we still had more financial regulation than at any time in history. So much so that we now pretty much have a planned economy not too different than Russia. Google Milton Friedman's videos where he compares freemarket to controlled economies.
