I think you can shoot 9mm in a .38 super.

The 38 Super cartridge is longer (.900 case length, 1.280 overall) and shaped differently than the 9mm (.754 case length, 1.169 overall). The chamber of is shaped different. The case head is slightly different, too.
To shoot 9x19 you will need a different barrel, magazines (maybe), and a lighter recoil spring (maybe). Might need a different slide; the breechface is shaped to hold the semi-rimmed 38 Super case, and the extractor might not reliably grab the smaller 9x19 rim.
I know it's probably been done, but that don't make it safe or correct. Semi autos headspace on the case mouth...that in itself would tell you that you can't interchange these two cartridges.
