  • A good woman, nice bike and fine guns!
Even though I try to look at every forum on GBO, I, like others have said, consider this as my "home" forum.  Hence this post here.

I spent a good bit of time this morning trying to get caught up on PM's and emails and finally resigned myself to the fact that I should offer an explanation as to why I have not been as responsive as I try to be, or visit here as often as I'd like to.

A short time ago Kathie was diagnosed with an aggressive form of uterine cancer.  This is her second time with this illness; she is an 11 year breast cancer survivor.  She will have surgery February 3d.  They have to wait that long for the medication she is on for other health issues to get out of her system.  Without that medication she will probably be in a lot of pain and at least partially immobile.

Naturally the next few weeks will be quite full for us.  So, if I'm not as quick to respond, please understand.  I will head to the computer first thing every time Kathie runs me off because I'm driving her crazy.

No reply necessary, I've been with this bunch long enough to know y'all care and Kathie is in your prayers.

You both have my prayers also.  My wife just had 'something' removed from her face-neck Wednesday.  Will find out next week what 'else' is needed... so I understand a little.

Thanks for your response earlier on the new GSI stock questions.  I got mine yesterday, based on your positive reply.  They'll give us something worthwhile to do when we get on our wife's nerves.

Bless.

I share your feelings friend, as the wife and I have been there.  Prayers offered.  If there is anything you need, let me know.  I'm only an hour or so away, and I'm good at gettin' and fetchin'.

Richard, Patty and I are a long way off, but if ya need us, our feet'll be on a plane headed your way.  Life is crazy.  A close friend of ours was just released as cancer free after two bouts with uterine.  Hug Kathie and tell her we're praying for her.......not that this guy's prayers would work real well, but Patty's will do beter.  I am serious, brother, if ya need help, we'll be there.  Know you're loved.

Richard,
Many heartfelt prayers are sent for Kathie and you.  My wife went throught the big C this past year and had surgery followed by radiation.  Her tests have been negative so far and we pray it stays that way.     I truly believe the power of prayer works so know that from me and Tanya we wish you all the strenth and perseverance to deal with the challenges before you.    God Bless.
I'm just tryin' to keep everything in balance, Woodrow. You do more work than you got to, so it's my obligation to do less. (Gus McCrae)

Richard & Katie,
May God's Grace and Love keep you strong in this your hour of need.
Many fine folks on this site are keeping you in their prayers and will continue to do so.
As you know this is absolutely the best forum on the net.Even though most of us have never met in person we feel a kinship that is unknown to a lot of people.
Speaking from experience (my wife  Pat is at Stage 4 ) the best thing to do is cherish every moment you can and enjoy the time you have together.
Stay strong for her

Richard:  I know what you are going through.  Michelle has had Breast Cancer, Twice.  The first time they removed a lump on the left side.  Then a year later they removed a lump on the right side.  Then two weeks later they went back in and removed a lot more material on the right side.  Then they put her on Tomoxifin, Side affect, it causes overian cancer.  One year later she was in a lot of pain from cyist on her overies, so they went in and took out everything.  It's been four and a half years now and so far so good.  Except for the hot flashes, she is back to a normal life, and enjoying every day as it comes.  I hug her every night, every morning, and when ever else the mood hits, and I tell her each time how much I love her.

So remember there can be a light at the end of the dark tunnel.  Rog
