Warning huntsman/sidekick owners

Just FYI: I cleaned my blued sidekick and put it away for the year. Fortunately I was cleaning the room I kept it in and found that the brass hubbard's ramrod had somehow reacted with the eggshell foam rubber in the case. I had to scrub goo off of the barrel and the ramrod. No major harm done but there is a 3-4" spot on my barrel that will need to be touched-up with some cold blueing or something. It took the black right off. I have been using the same solvents and cleaners for years. The only difference was the brass ramrod I added this year. Just one of those things I guess.

Doubt the brass or aluminum reacted with the foam. 
My guess is some cleaning agent leaked out of some part of the action or a fitting and ate the foam...
