I think I mentioned this in another forum or topic. I have twin grandaughters, who were born premature at about 4 months. They weighed about 1-1/2 lbs at birth. Their heads were no bigger than a tennis ball and were only about a foot long. They could breathe, had hair and nails, but had to be kept in the hospital until they were 5 lbs which took another couple of months. Now, you can justify all you want about abortion, but it should be outlawed since these are individual human beings that can actually survive. 85% of babies born after 5 months survive. Even Europe has outlawed abortions after 5 months. Babies have heartbeats and brainwaves at 6 weeks. They have hands and feed at about 8-10 weeks. Come on, they aren't a mass of cells. They are humans.
First off, I think abortion should be a states right issue, not federal. Second, if enough film of the stages of child development are shown, you better believe late terms and over 5 weeks, etc, etc would eventually be outlawed. Condoms are free everywhere, birth control is free at health clinics. There is no excuse for abortions. Teenage lust can be tamed, it's not impossible. Someone has suggested seperate days for boys and girls to attend school with year round school. Like alternating days and weeks for school. This would keep socialization between the sexes down and delay their first sexual encounters, hopefully by a few years, thus allowing them to mature more. Going to year round school and graduating from high school at 16, and require public supported trade schools like Germany for two more years until they are 18 and can handle a real job.
