I like the Varget. It's an easy one to load with, buy some powder an have at it
H4895's a good one too, an that 110 isn't a big bullet for the 257. Both are Hodgdons "extreme" powders and handle temp swings better than most. I live in MN and use them both.

Nobody can give you the accurate load for YOUR gun, ya gotta find it.

I am hooked on nosler accu-bond. 110gr is all they make it in for .25 caliber. Does a great job on whietail. Have found loads on here for other calibers that work great, some not in a book. The H4895 gives me 1 1/2" groups with the best load I have tested. Have not tried Varget, have some left from another caliber may give it a shot.
Thanks,
Bobby

I am working to find the "magic" load for my Ruger 77. So far I am getting good results with H4350 at around 43/44 grains (start lower)  And, seated at 2.910" ( about 0.020" from the lands) these are somewhat warm loads according to some manuals. However, do not show any signs of pressure in my gun.  I am getting 5-shots groups  at about  .8 to 1.25".   Still some way to go might be able to go as far as 45.5 grains.  Good Luck
