Bill Cosby: Himself
« on: January 22, 2011, 09:04:22 PM »
I just watched Bill Cosby on stage on HBO. He is telling the stories of his kids growing up. :D :D :D

It is an old program from 1983. But has there ever been a funnier man telling stories?

There was an old feller down south, that use to tell stories of his hound dogs. He was hilarious, can not remember his name.

Jerry Clower....Hhhaaawww!!! I love his line about tangling with the wildcat up in a tree "shoot up here amongst us, one of us got to have some relief".

I have seen that show 1983 a million times and if it came on tonight I would watch it again.
Got a chance to see Dr Cosby live a few years ago and he still has it.

I loved Cosbys story about the young buck in the rut. Jerry Clower is a riot too. What happened to good comedy???? Easy, liberals, folks without God in their lives.  They have given us raunchy, racy, sex, and depraved creatures like ellen degenerate. REAL comedy is dead. The only comedy worth watching on tv are reruns from yesteryear. POWDERMAN.  :( :( :( :( :( :(

I used to record the Justin Wilson shows to watch in the evening.
It always seemed to me that he served humor with the food, and
always enjoyed a little libation at the end of the show.

Charlie Douglas and his cheractors along with "Dammit Ray".  I especially liked the one about the "Mule Egg".  Also Clara Perty and the sick mule, especially when it headed to the ferry with the planting bugle stuck in it's rear.

Google Charlie Douglas and you will find a link to "The Mule Egg" on youtube.  Here is the link:

I just watched it again myself. This is a classic. I have it on VHS from way back then.  It makes people laugh of all ages.
My daughter just got me the audio CD's by Bill Cosby "Wonderfulness" & "Why Is There Air" for Christmas. I still have these on albums from way back then and they are all worn out from being played some much by her and her brothers when they were kids back then.
Remember " Chicken Heart " & " Go Carts ".

Yea, I remember Bill Cosby's albums from back in the late 60s.  When he talked about where babies came from, he kept it clean.  I also remember the one about when they overstayed at the theater, and had to cross the bridge after the monsters came out.  That's when they ran over the "Little Ole Wino".

My wife gave me the Red Skelton collection last year for Christmas.  Even the parts where they are laughing so hard they can't finish the joke is funny.

It was a different, wonderful world when we had Freddie the Freeloader, Jack Benny, the Honeymooners
and Uncle Miltie on the old CBS Columbia black and white TV. My Dad missed most of it, he was on the
roof moving the antenna for better reception.

I saw Red Skelton when he gave a command performance for Queen Elizabeth. He had her laughing so hard, she was dabbing at her eyes to wipe the tears away. Good clean fun.
