Ammo for 223 carbine.
« on: December 17, 2003, 09:42:05 PM »
Hey Guys, :D
I've got it from a good source Santa's bringing me a 21" .223 (Contender) carbine kit for Christmas :-D What should I feed it??? Getting dies too and want to load for target, plinking and also need a fur friendly load.
How about some of the inexpensive factory loads for plinking? Will steel cases, FMJ's, ect. damage my barrel?
Any help much appreciated. Thanks.

I do not reload at all. But I do use Black Hills ammo. Their 223 ammo is great. I shoot it both in my Encore and my AR. I get great groups with it. I use mostly the 55 grain. I figure any ammo that I can groups under 1/2" at 100 yards - factory ammo - will do just fine for me.

I shoot Hornady 55 gr. vx(with the red plastic tip) and vx moly in my 22" Bullberry and they work great. I haven't field tested them yet but they are supposed to be awsome.
If you can earn it, why did He have to die?
