They are now listed on the site as NOT C&R eligible 001 FFL ONLY.  Kind of ticks me off that I called and was given wrong info.

That bites.  Occasionally companies mess this stuff up though.  Once upon a time Sarco has the Zastava M88's mistakenly marked as C&R.  Those look old-ish for sure (I'd never even heard of them), but are apparently new production imports  :o.

Kinda figured that when everybody else were listing them as FFL. not C&R.  Oh well, my discretionary fund is safe for a while now! LOL

Well I just went browsing at them lastnight to see if they were sold out yet.  I was thinking for $200 to jump on the band wagon too. But there not C&R's now???  Didn't someone have these before marked as C&R's and they sold out in less than 24hr?

Got a call from Wideners yesterday.  Very apologetic for the misinformation.  They had relied upon info received from the importer.

I only have one Makarov.  It is a Chinese import that I bought new in the box for $85 back in 1992.

Most of my 9X18 shooting has been through a P-64 and a CZ-82 in the last few years.  I bought both before they became C&R.

I wish the Polish P-84 or the Bulgarian Mak would go C&R.

I have a Bulgarian, an East German, and a CZ82. They are all reliable, accurate, and enjoyable..... but the CZ has become my favorite as far as a carry piece. Lighter, more rounds, and more accurate.

i have a bulgarian makarov, a cz-82 and two polish p-64s. all are fed barnaul brown/silver bear or my cast bullet reloads. a rock, 100 yds distant in the river in front of my place, is easily hit with any of the pistols, but the cz is tough on my trigger finger...slaps it a bunch.

favorite? either p-64...after replacing the 27+lb trigger springs with an 18 lb spring ( http://www.gunsprings.com/index.cfm?page=items&cID=1&mID=49) . before swapping them out, the double-action pulls were unbelievably bad but decent afterward. the single-action pulls were fine before and after.

I went up two sizes strong in all my CZ pistols(CZ82 & CZ83 & CZ85DB) they seem to handle much better now with the stronger recoil spring.

I may go and look at a russian mak locally but the price is high.

I sold off my 1911 in the early 90s during a budget crunch, replaced with a Mak. I sold THAT ten years later, and replaced with a Hi-Power. Should have kept the Mak; it NEVER jammed, not once. Put a better grip on it, and it handled nicely. Good pistol.

I bought my East German Makarov with holster and two mags back in '88 or '89.  I shot it quite a bit for the first couple of years; there was alot of cheap S&B ammo available then.  I gave it to my son a couple of years ago.  I don't think that he shoots it very often but he told me that he likes it enough that he won't ever sell/trade it.

I've got an East German Makarov that I paid too much for.  I still shoot it from time to time.  I traded off the Bulgarian Mak that I had because I didn't like the grips on it.  The E. German gun fits my hands better and I shoot it well.

The factory ammo sure dried up where I live, though.  I don't shoot it enough that I feel he need to start loading for yet another cartridge, either.  Guess I need to find a good deal on a quantity of ammo and stock up on it.

My wife and son both have Makarovs that are supposedly used as sidearms by either the Polish police or military.  I never bothered to research what the vendor told regarding the guns history.  I like the the $165 price tag, this was in 2010.  IIRC the guns have a manufacture dates in the mid 70s.  They love them and they never seem to have any problems and these pistols are only fed a diet of Norinco steel case FMJs.  I don't like them because I don't get to shoot them but I always seem to be the one cleaning them.

I bought a Bulgarian Makarov a couple of years ago. I like it. The Russian 9X18 stuff is too hot for my taste. I also have a Polish PA63 and CZ 82 in the same caliber. I decided to try loading my own 9X18 ammo. I got some cast lead bullets from Missouri Bullets. I think they are 93 grain. And tried several different powders. I found that a small charge of Tite Group in some trimmed down 9mm Luger brass is a lot more accurate and a lot more comfortable to shoot. The brass doesn't get launched into next week either. Sometimes finding magazines for the Makarov can be tricky. I was able to get 6 DDR mags from a guy online in Az a while back for a decent price. Loading the mags can be tough on the thumb. I was able to make a tool to help make it easier. I like the Makarov though. Cool pistol for sure.

Robert I use the cut down 9x19 brass too with Bullseye and it works fine for me either with Berrys plated bullets or my own cast bullets. What kind of tool did you make to fill the mags? Can you post a picture of it? Thanks. Joe

The Polish P64s and the CZ82s seem to be the in C&R now. I have one of each.
