G2 209 x 50 Bent Hammer
« on: February 01, 2011, 02:18:35 AM »
Well it seems my hammer extension has caused the hammer to peen towards the frame. There is now a small crack. I noticed it late muzzleloader season , and would like to get it repaired or replaced. The extension was aftermarket and It may be stainless. Has anyone else had this happen, or had this repair made? If so, was it returned to thompson? The pet load has been 63.2 grains ( by weight) BH 209 with a 250 grain Lehigh bullet. Thanks in advance, Jason.

My guess is that you are going to have to send your receiver to TC to have the hammer replaced. Give them a call rather than Email and tell them what caused the problem. They may not cover it under warranty because they advise not using hammer extensions on their guns. Then again they may fix it at no cost.
