S&W Mdl. 15-8
« on: February 05, 2011, 03:28:13 PM »
I happened upon an interesting revolver recently, and took it in partial payment for a rifle I sold to a friend. It's  a Mdl. 15-8 built in the Performance Center in September 2001 as a Lew Horton issue. Round butt, cased checkered hammer and smooth trigger, laminated grips. I'm told that about 200 were built, all in nickel.

If anyone has any info to either confirm or refute the number of 200, I'd appreciate hearing from you. It was NIB until this morning, but I fixed that!

Just added a set of elk antler grips from Patrick Grashorn. They were well matched and an excellent fit, requiring very, very little final fitting.

If you ever want a good source of nice imitation pearl grips( Pimp Grips) for your 15 I know a great place. I have a pair that compliments my Model 19 nickel well!! Company called Ajax Grips. Great folks and great product.

I have a 15-3 that my father left me.  The Combat Masterpiece is one of my favorites.

I think Ajax grips went out of business within the last year.

Out of business? That's a bummer. They were good folks.
