If you mean the warning on the right side of the chamber swell, it doesn't seem to be on any of mine that I know were made before 2000, so it's probably a Marlin thing, that's when they bought H&R. I have almost 50 H&Rs, but a lot of them were made from parts and barrels don't have any identifying markings to indicate when they were made with the exception of being ejectors or extractors or having a pre-'98 ejector.
