Missed out on a NEF 3 barrel deal
« on: February 10, 2011, 11:25:45 AM »
I've been looking for a Huntsman or a Sidekick for the longest. I found a NEF Handi Rifle on gunbroker with a 3 barrel set.  A .357/.38Spec. barrel with a 4x Tasco scope, a .243 barrel with a 6x18 Tasco scope, and (siiiiiiiiiigh!) are you ready? A .50 Cal Huntsman barrel for $499.99 (buy it now price), in very good condition. While I was thinking if I could afford it, someone bought it!
Darn it, I should have just bought it. Still kicking myself.
I'm probably going to order the Huntsman barrel from H&R, but I am still looking for a Sidekick, preferably stainless.
While I'm moaning, can any of you fellas give me a bit of advice. Which frame would you put the Huntsman barrel on? I have an SB1 (Pardner) frame, and a SB2 (Handi) frame.

My quandary, I personally, don't think I have enough Handi's but, I know I have more Handi's than I really need or should have.

Post an ad for a Sidekick and/or a Huntsman barrel in the H&R WTB forum, buying/selling/trading isn't allowed in discussion forums, you'll notice I edited your message.  ;)  H&R has lots of blued Huntsman accessory barrels in stock right now tho if you can't wait!

Tim,
Thanks for the heads up. I didn't really think about it, when I posted, it was more like praying. Guess I was letting my disappointment show. I thank you for not letting me step in it. I am getting the funds together for the Huntsman barrel from H&R, but I also wanted the Sidekick in s/s. I'll take your advice and post on the WTB.
BTW, do you have a recommendation regarding which frame I should use for the Huntsman barrel? From what I read here, I think the way to go would be to use the SB1 (shotgun) frame because of the fatter firing pin. Is my assumption correct?

Either frame is fine, personally I'd save the SB2 for high pressure chamberings if you have a choice.
