Grease Cookies?
« on: February 10, 2011, 12:02:27 PM »
Hello, I have been out of sinc with the black powder technology of the past 20 years.  I have most of Paul Mathews books.  He tells of using grease cookies to keep fouling soft..does anyone use these anymore?
He mentions his desire for the grease wad to be instantly vaporized near throat for most good, and believed any kind of wad between the powder & grease would be detrimental to this.  He first tried wax paper..then went to a thin .03" dental wax wad over powder & very soft grease wad on top of this.  Seated a fiber wad on grease & seated bullet.  Has anyone ever  tried this thin over-powder wax wad, for a grease barrier?  Thanks guy's!
