« on: February 11, 2011, 02:21:12 AM »
Just moved to sothwest Iowa, looking for a place to shoot rifles.  Anyone know of any ranges or good places to shoot?

Don't know where in southwest Iowa you are, but assuming you are fairly far west I know off four options. Glenwood has a range south of town. Council Bluffs has a gunclub with a range north of town. There is a range near Weeping Water Nebraska. Finally, there is the Eastern Nebraska Gun Club which holds meetings in Omaha. (They have a website.) Their range is by Louisville Nebraska which is about 20 miles west of Glenwood Iowa. It has a couple short ranges for pistols without benches, a 50-yard range with benches, a 100 meter range with benches and a trap shoot area. In addition there is a range with benches and target locations a 50 yards, 100 yards, 150 yards, 200 yards, 300 meters, 400 meters, and 600 yards.

Thanks for the information.  We're in Creston, about 2 hours from the Omaha area.

The Lenox golf course/lake has a shooting range.  Come and go as you please.
