Longtom we have the pull over for Emergency Vehicle law here also but, it say pull over if it can be done safely or slow down.
I like this law I still drive wreckers on occasion and I can tell you when you are on your knees or laying down on the white line hooking up to a vehicle.
And you have traffic coming by you at 65-70 mph just inches away it is not fun. Once when I hooking up a disabled car I was laying down and pickup came so close it took the mirror off my wrecker. Talk about a pucker factor Anyway I'm willing to bet that most such laws are written as pull over or slow down the Problem is they don't say slow down to what speed. So here is a good rule, go as slow as you would if that was your kid working on the side of the road. Remember Emergency workers are most of the time focused on the clearing the roadway as quickly as possible so they may not be paying attention to traffic at all times.

That very well maybe the case and really I do agree with the reasoning.
I too, have been under or along side my truck on the shoulder and at times it does get close but to make it a law I say is unnecessary.
I have been behind a few that have slowed down quite abruptly and at times it has caused my hair to tingle trying to avoid them.
A slow down is one thing but to slam on the brakes can be a very dangerous thing also.
There again, common sense!!!
Another good one is good old mom & pop pulling their camper trailer through construction zones.
The sign says 9' and their trailer is 8'.
They look in the mirror and see how close they are on one side and move over a little and WHAM, there goes the other side.
Don't look in the mirrors!
Hold the wheel steady and in the center of the lane and the trailer will be right behind them.
I do respect my elders but sometimes it can be a chore!!!
