Replacing Front and Rear Sights
« on: February 11, 2011, 09:57:41 AM »
I was thinking of replacing the front and rear sights on my Springfield, 1911.  It's just the plain jane army issue model.
I was thinking of the trijicon sites, specifically.
I've never done this, nor do I have any specific tools for the job.
What tools would be needed to remove the old sites, and to install the new ones.
" we are screwed "

If they are in dovetail slots then a sight push tool or a plastic or wood punch and hammer. If not the front sight could be more in involve as some are sodered in  . If dovetails make sure you get ones for your gun as they can and do differ in size .
If ya can see it ya can hit it !
