Hello, I have a pre war (WW1) German sporting rifle. Near mint bore, but oversize in grooves..which was normal I think for German rifles. (.288") I had Fred Leeth make up a couple of nose-pour moulds. One is a copy of Lyman 31108..this has a nice flat nose & weighs 150gr. The other is a copy of the old Ideal 1903 heavy .30. this one came out a bit heavy at 180gr. Also nice wide meplat. I haven't tried the heaver one yet, but the 150's are grouping in 11/4" at 100yd. using H4895. This rifle likes heavy loads! Rifle came from Alaska, and beautifuly proffesional job of glass bedding has been done..so I am prettty sure it's hunted before...but I wonder about the reliability of cast..would love to take a wild Boar The action is engraved & case-colored, heavely engraved animal scene on floorplate. Double-set triggers, horn triggerguard, and buttplate. 4X Zeis in German claw-mounts on full-length matted rib. Thanks for any information you could give me.
