I tried a scope on my Henry yesterday and it brought my groups in to 1.5" at 50 yards with T-22.  I guess I shouldn't expect much more from this rifle.

Gerry,

I think you can expect more from your Henry with a scope. Try some different ammo. I know three different people with three different Henry's; Youth model, Golden Boy 22lr and Golden Boy 22 mag. Seen two shoot 1 1/2"or less, groups at 50m with iron sights with the right ammo. Bet you can find a brand of ammo that will please you and Henry.

First I'll get a better scope, then I'll try some other brands of ammo.  I have a dozen or more kinds in my ammo box now.  I'm sure I will be able to improve my groups to some degree.  It is still my favourite plinker and that is likely all I will use it for.

Yea like any 22 you will find something the Henry likes. Just shoot ammo until you do. My 22 mag Henry will shoot FMJ CCI ammo darn near in one hole at 50 yards yet the TNT ammo shoots 1.5 at best usually worse than that. PMP also shoots good in my gun. Federal is so so and so is  Winchester premium though others have had good luck with it. Just have to keep shooting to see what it likes and there is a lot of 22LR ammo out there so I am sure you will find one the gun likes. :) Jim
Said I never had much use for one, never said I didn't know how to use it.
