If there were background checks, knife licenses, knife safes, and knife locks this wouldn't have happened.

Don't overlook swords. There is an article in todays paper where a man forced entry into a woman's home. When this man tried to force entry into the woman's bedroom she screamed and told him to go away. When he did not she swung a 24 inch sword and sliced through his arm, near or at the wrist, almost cutting the hand off. When police arrived they found the man sitting on an exercise bike trying to slow the bleeding and in shock.

My view, too bad she was not able to put a few more pounds of force behind the sword and completely severed the hand. Here is the link for those that might want to read the article. Rog

HEH. We joke about this but it's the way liberals think. Want to stop something??? Pass another law, all taken care of. Problem is that libs are mentally deficient in all ways and the fact that criminals are called criminals is because they refuse to obey the laws of the land does not compute with their pea sized brains. I've carried a knife since I was 4 years old. When I put my pants on a knife goes into my pocket.
I've been known to carry as many as 4 at one time.

According to the news the news the guy had five knives. There is no good reason for any one to own more than one knife.

I always carry 2 knives. 1 is a 3 bladed working knife. The other is a 5" blade folding cold steel. It only sees emergencies. 3 large dogs were menacing my wife while we were fishing. They were very close to her growling and barking. I got all 3 of them before she was hurt. The owner stood there like an idiot, then he called the sherrif. He kept mouthing off about 50 feet away until the sherrif got there. The deputy gave him a ticket for not having his dogs on a leash and asked if we wished to press charges. I just laughed.

I live in California, and fortunately there was no magazine limit on my knife. I might have had to reload.

I'm 47 and stuff like this probably happend when I was younger,I just never took time to read about it. Around where I live almost everyone has a knife on them at all times,I and others even carried them in school,never no trouble. Today the only thing they allow you to take to school is an empty head so they can fill it with whatever they think is right. For an idiot to go on a cutting spree, that is a person that should be taken outback,never to return. But instead they'll do research that cost millions and find that it was caused by his parents giving him a spanking instead of talking to him. What a joke that would be,but it might happen.

Just think, I carried a gun to school almost everyday, and had a pocket knife since I was in the 3rd grade. Never a problem.

There are those of course that think limiting on what you can carry will reduce crime. I think Powderman calls them pantywetters.

Just so long as you've attended the appropriate training, carry appropriate insurance, register for a permit to acquire, register once acquired after an appropriate waiting period, purchase a federally regulated tool case (locking of course) that is inspectable by BATFE at any time, and you only use it to turn screws for which you recorded the serial numbers of your screwdriver upon purchase, your right to turn screws will not be infringed. But really ask yourself, do you really need to be turning screws? Wouldn't it be smarter and safer just to use your tax dollars to hire government professionals to turn those screws for you? Actually, the more I think about it, the more I think you must be anti-American since you are depriving undocumented workers of the opportunity to turn that screw for you, at a fair wage of course! Shame on you - you are clearly mentally unfit to own a screwdriver!!
