In my family, we say, "If it doesn't eat; keep it".
My wife says, "That's the Polish half".
My point is, that I seem to remember his telling me that he has a son. The son who may carry on. Also, a daughter who may marry some day, to a man who will take-up our hobby.
Maybe?
It would be nice to think that since the artillery was part of him, he will linger with his family in his guns' smoke. They may smile when one of his pieces roar and his neighbours roll their eyes.
Me? I once told MY daughter, "Take a look around you Jen. This is your inheritance". She replied, "What inheritance? I'm going to pile it on you chest and burn you like a Viking with it".
Let's hope his dreams can remain with the family.
