Mike and Gary went to see the latest Tanner Gun Show, but, being a stoic artilleryman, being responsible and bound by duty, and really loving the whole concept of a world-wide mass cannonade to celebrate the Spring Solstice, I stayed behind to man the 10" Rodman ( it's a BB cal. nano; it's not full size  :D :D).  If that's not enough, well, I have backup!!

Tracy

P.S.    A bit more about the Spring Solstice:  The Celts had a Holiday called "Ostara" that was held on the 20th of March of each year according to the actual astrological date.  The traditional date for the Spring 'Eguinox' (equal day and night) is 21 March.  Being the first day of Spring, this was the traditional start of the planting season and was called the Vernal or Spring Equinox.  It's a time to celebrate the rebirth of Spring and rebirth of living things.

My 'Ring in the Spring' movie:

Smokin' my pipe on the mountings, sniffin' the mornin'-cool,
I walks in my old brown gaiters along o' my old brown mule,
With seventy gunners be'ind me, an' never a beggar forgets
It's only the pick of the Army that handles the dear little pets - 'Tss! 'Tss!

OK, the Saturday before the Spring Equinox.  So I missed it.  I will continue with the plan for Sunday.   >:(    ;)

All I got out of that video was the sound of spring being rung in by the bb gun.   :(

I don't know what to say, Mark.  This time I went to the trouble of checking with two friends, who are in different parts of Broomfield, Colorado to see if the movie could be seen without any special manipulation at all.  They both told me that it played O.K., but that there were too many seconds of nothing before the fuse was lighted, 10 to 15 seconds they said.  I wanted to get the nano cannon fired right at 12:00 Noon, so I hurried just a little and boxed myself in on an office roller chair between the basement wall and the camera tripod.  The click-clacking noise you can hear is just me trying to get free to grab the lighter and light the fuse.

We rang in the spring with a blown radiator...  Maybe tomorrow with black powder.

Well I rang um good.  Was shooting into a head wind which complicated things.

I started with  Krupp  No. 24.  Only had Fg powder.  Smoke was it.  cracker didn't ignite and laded 5 feet in front gun.

Next up was golf ball mortar.  Ball went out caught the head wind and sliced back and land 20 feet in from of the gun in the water.

Last was K.I.S.S. the  can Mortar.  Now here is a gun big enough to buck the Maryland wind. 150 grains of Fg pushed the cement filled pop can out about 75 yards in the head wind,

Here is a frame capture from the above video.

Here is another video from a different angle. This video should be titled "wait for it, wait for it, wait for it."  Also listen very carefully.  Full screen doesn't hurt either.

This little gun is fast becoming my favorite cannon.  it is so light and simple to operate and shoots rather well also...and it doesn't look bad either... Wife likes shooting it also.

Those of you who who shot early or late, it doesn't matter it's the intent that counts.
