Jefferson didn't sic the Marines on the Somali pirates (off the east coast of Africa, sub-Saharan blacks) .. he sent the Marines to kick the butts of the Barbary pirates (Off the north coast of Africa..Mediterranean coast Arabs) ....And kick butt they did !
There is an interesting parallel between Jefferson scaring the bejabbers out of the Barbary pirates, and Reagan scaring the bejabbers out of Col Khadaffi..200 years later..roughly the same area also !

I lived in Germany for 2.5 years and I have no problem with the modern German people. The only ones I ever had issues with, were those very few who still cling to the old "Mein Kampf" .."Ubermensch" dialectic..

As far as Margolis..he is also a regular contributor to the New York Times, "Dawn" a Pakistani newspaper. "Gulf times" in Quatar .and "Khalij Times" in Dubai... so I suppose we would get "fair & balanced" reports..yeah, right !
He does appear on Fox now & then, but Fox really is "fair & balanced"..so they may have such diversity as the victory mosque sponsor, Rev Wright, Louis Farrakhan, Mommar Khadafi, B. Hussein Obama or a Klan leader on their news channel.

Fact 1-Long before Bush was president, Clinton had reports of WMD's. He hit an asprin factory, which I can't blame him for, as I'm sure that he wasn't the one that set the co-ordinants on the missle.
Fact 2-Saddam would be alive today, if he would had let UN inspectors in to survey and report.
Fact 3- 9-11 happened. Bush decided to do something, instead of sitting around with a thumb up his butt, possibly having another attack.

Perhaps Saddam was hung because the establishment couldn't have someone spouting the truth.

If the reason was 9-11 retaliation, perhaps Saudi Arabia should have been targeted. That is where the perpetrators originated.

If the reason was oil, then we have made a mess of it.

If the reason was empire, then it was true that Saddam would not bow down. But neither would Iran or N. Korea.

The establishment needs boogermen to keep the sheeple under control.

The military industrial complex needs wars. Blow up the missiles and then make some more.

Now, Democrats and their ilk are saying "Bush lied about WMD". Quite obviously, if Bush lied about WMD, then a whole host of Democrats also lied about the WMD.
Where are these Democrats now, why aren't they man (or woman) enough to admit they were saying the same thing ? So far, only Geworge Bush is man enough and honest enough to admit he did say such a thing !

Anyone who says Bush lied about Saddam Hussein having WMD,..... if they wish to retain any credibility whatsoever, should also add.. "so too were Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton, Al Gore, John Kerry, Sandy Burglar, Teddy Kennedy, Madeline Albright, Nancy Pelosi and Sen Jay Rockerfeller.... also lying about WMD" .

Fact is in this instance, I believe they were all telling the truth..

Several independent organizations have all come to the same conclusion, interviewing structural engineers, demolition experts, arson specialists. The people pay for the wars and do not get the dollars.
Propaganda and lies are necessary to convince the people that it is a just war. (i.e. WMD)
A favorite slogan is "fighting for our freedom". The last few wars have had nothing to do with freedom in America.

That's about the size of it- -a security racket in essence; plus a whole lot of hoodwinking of the citizens to buy into this stuff; maybe throw in a terrorist attack or two, and some religious distortion is always good, too. Then when a few citizens say, "wait a minute...what the heck is going on here?" ....we get the anti rhetoric and other BS spin...plus a huge memory hole to pull facts and figures out of....a total system of hypocrisy.
