1894 30/30 " V " prefix

There's a 30/30 in my local gunshop and its serial number is V163337.  It has a small diamond shape in the action below the number.
It looks like a typical 1970's style 94 apart from the number.
stock looks like a replacement .
Has anyone else seen a V prefix ?

Hi All
Jon, I own a 94 with the same prefix, it has done my head in trying to find out any info on this rifle, it seems to be a bit of an odd ball to me, any help would be great.
