Unfortunately there is no moral compass guiding liberals.

Here's your moral compass -

Cronyism -

Brian Deschane - the 27-year-old son of a prominent lobbyist - was demoted on Tuesday following a public uproar over his appointment to a cushy job earning $81,500 per year working in Gov. Scott Walker's administration. The move comes one day after the Journal Sentinel disclosed details of the appointment. Deschane is the son of Jerry Deschane, a longtime lobbyist for the Wisconsin Builders Association, which gave $121,652 via its political action committee and conduit to Walker and his running mate, Lt. Gov. Rebecca Kleefisch. Deschane has no college degree, little management experience and a couple of drunken-driving convictions.

The two candidates Deschane beat out to get the position as head of environmental and regulatory affairs in the state Department of Commerce ? The first, Oscar Herrera, is a former state cabinet secretary under Republican Gov. Scott McCallum with a doctoral degree and eight years' experience overseeing the cleanup of petroleum-contaminated sites. The second, Bernice Mattsson, is a professional engineer who served since 2003 in the post to which Deschane was appointed. Herrera and Mattsson didn't get far in the process. "Neither candidate was interviewed," said agency spokesman Tony Hozeny.

Last week spokesman Cullen Werwie described Deschane as a "natural fit" for the position at the Commerce Department. Before Walker's office announced Deschane's demotion, Assembly Democrats on Tuesday criticized the appointment as cronyism and offered an amendment to cut the job of administrator at the Department of Commerce's Division of Environmental and Regulatory Services.

Republicans, who control the Assembly, tabled the amendment on a party-line vote of 55-39.

Deschane's father has said that during the gubernatorial contest he might have reminded Keith Gilkes, Walker's campaign manager and now chief of staff, that his son "was out there and available."

Seems fishy, I will give you that... Although you realize that Walker plans to get rid of the Dept of Commerce and replace it with private workers.  And as far as the other 2 candidates one was a Doyle puppet who just because he's a professional engineer means nothing, and the other doesn't who know's the reasoning.  My guess is he was opposed to privatizing  the dept.  Everything is not on the surface here...

How is it that someone who is soooo moderate has never once uttered a harsh word against the far left??? It's always the extreme right that gets your wrath. It would seem that if someone was central, both sides would have the same amount of problems...   Although when your denying your true beliefs things get a little clouded I guess...

Buckskin;
Of course Scoot will bring you the unvarnished truth concerning Scott Walker...
If he wants to check some really off-the-wall appointments, he oought to delve into those Czar appointments that BHO made..
Let's just take one for instance, a fellow named Van Jones..our "green" czar.  Below, see a couple facts about him as well as a quote from anrecent interview he gave..:

1999: was arrested in the 1999 Seattle protests against the World Trade Organization

• Excerpt from a Nov. 2005 interview in the East Bay Express:

Jones had planned to move to Washington, DC, and had already landed a job and an apartment there. But in jail, he said, "I met all these young radical people of color — I mean really radical, communists and anarchists. And it was, like, ‘This is what I need to be a part of.’" Although he already had a plane ticket, he decided to stay in San Francisco. "I spent the next ten years of my life working with a lot of those people I met in jail, trying to be a revolutionary." In the months that followed, he let go of any lingering thoughts that he might fit in with the status quo. "I was a rowdy nationalist on April 28th, and then the verdicts came down on April 29th," he said. "By August, I was a communist." In 1994, the young activists formed a socialist collective, Standing Together to Organize a Revolutionary Movement, or STORM, which held study groups on the theories of Marx and Lenin and dreamed of a multiracial socialist utopia. They protested police brutality and got arrested for crashing through police barricades. In 1996, Jones decided to launch his own operation, which he named the Ella Baker Center after an unsung hero of the civil-rights movement.

   So Scoot;
    If you really like digging into weirdo appointments...check out Barack Hussein's "czars"...guaranteed you'll have a riot !   ;) :D) :D

How is it that someone who is soooo moderate has never once uttered a harsh word against the far left???

Don't get me started on the far left. I could fill pages. But this thread is about stripping collective bargaining, and has swayed a bit here or there regarding their corporate backed agenda and political funding issues. That said I am very upset with the far right because they have hijacked the mainstream Republicans, and have held the party hostage. It seems even within the Party if your not with them 100% then somehow you must be against them 100%.  They're just extreme nuts (in my opinion).

IG,
This word Czar cracks me up ..it somehow has become fashionable. Every president appoints "special officers or Czars" who are normally experts in a specific field.  Nixon was probably the first, an Energy CZAR.

Here were some of Bush's to name a few
Cyber Security Czar , Regulatory Czar, AIDS Czar, Bird Flu Czar,  Intelligence Czar, Health IT Czar, Katrina Czar, Manufacturing Czar, Drug Czar, Domestic Policy Czar, War Czar, Copywright Czar, Abstinence Czar, Mine Safety Czar,
Latin American Czar, WTO Health Czar, Corruption Czar, Privacy Czar, Health Czar.

I had to Google the info below but here were the totals for some presidential appointments.

President Clinton had 10 Czars.
President Bush ("W") appointed up to 46.
President Bush had a total of 36 positions (many temporary) filled by a total of 46 different individuals over the years, of which 21 were confirmed by the U.S. Senate.

Read more: http://wiki.answers.com/Q/How_many_czars_did_President_George_W_Bush_appoint#ixzz1InHDBw9x

President Obama has at present 32 Czar positions

And stop listening to Beck (he is a nut )

If you want to be specific

Of the Obama 32 czars Beck recently listed :

9 were confirmed by the Senate, including the director of national intelligence ("intelligence czar"), the chief performance officer ("government performance czar") and the deputy interior secretary ("California water czar").

8 more were not appointed by the president – the special advisor to the EPA overseeing its Great Lakes restoration plan ("Great Lakes czar") is EPA-appointed, for instance, and the assistant secretary for international affairs and special representative for border affairs ("border czar") is appointed by the secretary of homeland security.

15 of the "czarships" Beck lists, including seven that are in neither of the above categories, were created by previous administrations.
(In some cases, as with the "economic czar," the actual title – in this case, chairman of the president’s economic recovery advisory board – is new, but there has been an official overseeing the area in past administrations. In others, as with the special envoy to Sudan, the position is old but the "czar" appellation is new.)

In all, of the 32 positions in Beck’s list, only 8 are Obama-appointed, unconfirmed, brand new czars.

You will have to SHOW ME where Bush gave appointees the totalitarian title of "czar"..

BTW...You haven't commented on the dedication to Communism & radicalism, as outlined by Van Jones...or the same by the prez...in his books...

TM,
I like how you refrained from itemizing the union issues. You simply said "ugly unions". Don;t you think its more like: corrupt unions, undo union influence on the process, unions buying off politicians, imbedded union influence in the legal prcocess and union corruption against the tax payers? I think this is a more comprehensive list. Ugly unions seems to just gloss over the issue a bit too lite....

Latest recall News  -

Wisconsin Democrats have collected nearly 22,561 signatures  - 145 percent of the necessary 15,588 signatures  required to recall Sen. Dan Kapanke.

That's nearly 7,000 more than they needed to launch a recall, and insurance against efforts by Kapanke's lawyers to challenge and potentially throw out some of the collected signatures.

Wisconsin Democrats have collected almost 24,000 signatures—150 percent of the necessary 15,629 signatures to recall Republican Randy Hopper.

A group hoping to recall Kenosha County Democrat Bob Wirch said it received the signatures it needed on Monday and is now gathering extra ones to replace those ruled invalid. (no numbers reported yet)

Latest Supreme Court race news -

A tally compiled by The Associated Press Wednesday and used by news organizations statewide, including the Journal Sentinel, indicated Kloppenburg was leading the race by 204 votes. Figures on Winnebago County's website are now different from those collected by the AP.

Winnebago County's numbers say Prosser received 20,701 votes to Kloppenburg's 18,887. The AP has 19,991 for Prosser to Kloppenburg's 18,421.

The new numbers would give Prosser 244 more votes, or a 40-vote lead statewide.

An editor at the AP said the news service became aware of the discrepancy in the past hour. The AP last checked figures with Winnebago County at 10:14 a.m. Wednesday, according to the AP. The county adjusted its figures at 2:27 p.m.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

David Prosser picked up 200 votes in New Berlin after a clerical error was discovered, according to Pat Karcher, a member of the board of canvassers in Waukesha County. Karcher spoke during a break in the canvassers meeting. Check back to JSOnline.com for updates.

Whatever the case, we know who it was that behaved like a mob of Huns or Vandals and despitefully trashed the state capitol building and grounds..
It sure as *&$#@+* wasn't the governor or the Rep senators...wasn't the Dem senators either, since they were AWOL..

Nope; ...it was the filthy pigs of the unions, fowling the capitol building...turning it into their personal sty..guess they are more comfortable in those surroundings...

As I said TM, much like your vaunted DU cruise missiles and 4000 watt death ray that ran on AA batteries, you need to do a bit more research.

Looks like good news so far, but even if Prosser wins, the new law is not a shoo-in.   From what i understand, Prosser is a thoughtful judge, guided by the law...so it wouldn't be a slam-dunk.
That is quite unlike the liberals and their judge.  Since liberals believe "the ends justify the means", they were completely confident that their judge would .."toe the party line".. and follow the orders of "central planning".

Yes, It now appears that after having a reported 2000 Community organizers on the ground, and outspending by a 3-1 margin, and the full weight of the public unionized employees behind them the best the Kloppenburg candidacy can muster is a virtual tie with Justice Prosser, who appesrs to now lead the vote totals.

This is simply amazing to me that after all the false TV ads against Prosser especially the one where he supposedly covered up a priest sexually abusing two(at that time) young boys, that Prosser could collect 50% of the votes.

I can honestly say that the left is relentless and I admire the way they go after anyone or anything that gets in their way. If the right would go after them this way maybe we could accomplish something. When the left are around you had better guard your jugular vein or you will be tapped out faster than a beach ball in a hurricane.

And a little message for Scott Walker and Conservative Legislators,

April 6, 2011

Dear Scott,

Why is self-defense not a priority for these Republicans?

As you know, Wisconsin Campaign for Liberty and Wisconsin Gun Owners have delivered a legislative proposal.  We are now being told that even though a draft is ready, Republicans want to waste your time in caucus.  Why are gun owners being stonewalled?

The best bill possible is on the table: a bill that would eliminate the government ban on constitutional concealed carry in Wisconsin.

What's the delay?

Why won't they return our calls?

Rumors have been flying that the NRA has gotten involved here in Wisconsin and is pushing for a watered-down concealed carry bill: a bill that very well may force you to beg the government for permission to exercise your 2nd amendment rights.

The legislation that you and I want is very simple: Repeal the carry prohibition to allow unrestricted constitutional carry.  Anything less will NOT be acceptable.

Now is the time to pass a true constitutional carry bill; but are politicians cutting deals and getting ready to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory?  That very well could be the case.

The message we must send to Madison: Introduce the C4L and WGO Concealed Carry Bill!

We need you to contact your state assembly and senate representative right now and tell them that you will not accept anything less than a pure constitutional carry bill.  Tell them that if they support a watered down replacement bill that requires you to beg for your 2nd amendment rights you will vote to replace them in the next elections.

Click here to find your Representative's contact information.

In the next hour you could be assaulted...  Why are they delaying your right to protect yourself?

In Liberty,

Todd Welch
Interim State Coordinator
Wisconsin Campaign for Liberty
Click here to join us on Facebook

P.S.  The Republicans in the legislature are delaying your right to protect yourself from criminals, they may even be working with the NRA to sell out your rights by crafting a bill that would require you to beg for your 2nd amendment rights.  Call your representatives right now and tell them to support our bill for true Vermont-style constitutional concealed carry.  Anything less is unacceptable!

******Yuup Buckskin, We voted on Tuesday and it was Thursday when the area election boards did their re-canvassing to re-check vote totals. In our area after the retallying the votes Kloppenberg gained in the vote totals. Did you see the look on her face during the brief press interview the media did with her about the Waukeha county vote tally? A Mastercard moment to be sure! 8) Ya gotta love those fangs coming out!********

From www.wispolitics.com

Election Blog: Waukesha County clerk apologizes for 'human error' that led to reporting incorrect vote totals
4/7/2011

Waukesha County Clerk Kathy Nickolaus apologized this evening for human error that she blamed for failing to include the city of Brookfield's vote totals in the tally she reported to the media Election Night.

The mistake and two other changes in the county helped net Justice David Prosser 7,583 votes over JoAnne Kloppenburg and swung the race dramatically in his favor.

Nickolaus said she failed to properly save a spreadsheet after inputting the Brookfield numbers Election Night, leading to the error. Once she ran the report to show the aggregate numbers for the county, she assumed incorrectly the Brookfield numbers were included.

She said the mistake was discovered yesterday during the canvass.

She stressed it was not a case of votes being found.

"I’m thankful that this error was caught early in the process and during the canvass," Nickolaus said. "The purpose of the canvass is to catch these kinds of errors."  <<End of quoted article>>

TM7, That is how the votes were found doing routine follow-ups. I'm sure though that Dane County can "find" enough votes somewhere to put Kloppenberg back in the lead. Heck they may even  find more votes than they have registered voters. ;D

From the Milwaukee Urinal-Sentinel;

'We went over everything'
But at the news conference with Nickolaus, Ramona Kitzinger, the Democrat on the Waukesha County Board of Canvassers, said: "We went over everything and made sure all the numbers jibed up and they did. Those numbers jibed up, and we're satisfied they're correct."

As a Democrat, she said, "I'm not going to stand here and tell you something that's not true."They finally found one that could tell the truth :D

Waukesha County Executive Dan Vrakas, who sat in on Nickolaus' news conference, said voters can be confident in the results because "all the votes are in that office. If anyone wants to look at them and verify, they can."

TM7, Your right on voting. If voting worked The Powers That Be, would probably make it illegal to do so.

<<<<<Again though in the Huffington Post this was mentioned;UPDATE: 10:54 p.m. -- Also at the press conference, Ramona Kitzinger, a Democratic member of the county board of canvass, agreed with Nickolaus and said they "went over everything and made sure that all the numbers jived up, and they did."

"I'm the Democratic vice chair of Waukesha County, so I'm not going to stand here and tell you something that's not true," Kitzinger said.>>>>>End of quoted text

TM, That aside, Kathy Nickolaus should be terminated from her position. That being said, most of those postions are elected positions. Also this has been pointed out several times that these votes were not fabricated/lost votes, they were votes that were not included in Waukesha County totals. When Brookfields votes showed 0, the rechecking started from there and then totals were adjusted to show the Brookfield votes.

I also think an investigation should ensue on this. But make no mistake if Prosser wins, the left will go off like a firecracker soaked in gas, and us Cheeseheads will never ever hear the end of this.

Trust me, I wish she wouldn't have made the mistake and had the votes entered correctly in the first place.  This would all be over by now, and likely no recall with a 7500 vote advantage.  She has a lot of explaining to do to everyone and this kind of thing should never happen.

Have any of you notice how Scooter has been uncharacteristically  :-X since this was revealed??? I see he was last active on the site at 7:38 last night.  Must really frost his cookie to see that his sleeping GIANT turned out to be conservative...  >:( Maybe he is busy being involved in the recall efforts... ::)

Scooter said;

"Prosser probably never did any thing wrong, and I never said he did. this is backlash for Walker over-reaching and the public is angry. As I said He awoke a sleeping Giant (The mainstream middle class folks of America), and I am sure there will be more reprecussions now. You can win a battle and lose a war. 2012 elections are going to be interesting."

   Scooter;

I guess I have to agree with you in this case.  The public IS angry...and a sleeping giant (the mainstream middle class) HAS been awakened, and we both can rest assured  there WILL be repercussions in 2012 !
Oil is sellling for $112 per barrel now.. Why ?  Well because we have an administration which is so stupid that they did not keep intelligence agents in the ME countries, so they could be forewarned enough to head off the attempts at revolution by Muslim radicals...which are now transpiring.
Meanwhile, the radical Muslims were working at taking over the mideast , or at the least puttting a choke on the straights of Hormuz.
When working people realize that ity is wholly the fault of the Obama administration that they are paying $5 to $6 for a gallon of gas, they will be tossing him out on his ear..

So, how do you feel about  it, Scoot ?   Is it still a "shot across the bow"..of the Democrats ship ?

Here is a story about a 86 year old man, volunteering his time to help elementary kids cross the street and get on the bus, but a union has an issue with it. I guess they figure an over paid public employee, with all the benefit goodies should be doing this job.

This is typical union mentality, and the idiots haven't figured out yet that, its actions like this that tick off tax payers.
