Zeiss 8x20mm -- any reports?
« on: December 20, 2003, 05:40:22 PM »
I'm thinking about picking up a pair of Zeiss 8x20 binos for $300.  I could use something lightweight but high quality for mountain hunting and military patrols.  Does anyone out there have any experience with these binos?

20mm/8X=2.5mm exit pupil

Conclusion: They gonna suck for use in any but full sunlight conditions. Not a good choice. Find you a pair of 6x30s. They are the most compact you'll find that still are useful in all conditions. My Steiners are a very useful bino.

I have a pair of Zeiss 8x20's and they are great. I can see way past shooting hours in PA. In a full moon I can see very well.

I went ahead and bought them.  I've alreay got a pair of Steiner 9x40's but needed something I could fit on my web gear for patrolling and such.  They'll fit the bill in the sunny deserts of the Middle-East.

Thanks guys.
