Hello, Is it possible to hit those little critters using peep sights?  Thanks!

Short answer, yes. Of course it depends on what silhouette game you are talking about. BPCR is all about iron sights, or has been until recently and they shoot very good scores. But you'll look long and hard to find someone using irons in highpower silo. Same targets and course of fire. At our local smallbore silo matches we have guys using irons, both hunting style and target style on old Anschutz rifles. If the wind is not blowing requiring holdoffs, the target type irons are not giving up anything to scopes. You need a good spotter though, can't see your hits by yourself.

Hello, Nobade, Thanks for reply..I should have been more clear..I was thinking of rimfire.  Your comment about High-power Silhouette & irons brought back memories..Back in 1980 I attended a High-power Silhouette match..Only rifle I had that was accurate enough was an 1896 .30-40 Krag carbine.  At home range, at 200 yds. I could use the little flip-up peep on rear..showed up real nice on the paper targets..once at match however, I couldn't see a thing thru that tiny hole!  Had to shoot match with the open sights.  Got a few chickens, did ok on pigs, turkeys were left & right..even off sight in bench!, I remember I hit 5 rams, but only 4 went down..almost too hard to be fun with those open sights!  I do remember the smoke from that linseed oil soaked stock when I was through!

Personally I prefer irons to shooting a scope in smallbore.  In fact I prefer Irons over a scope for everything except half size.  Just an old fart who is too set in his ways.
If I agreed with you then we would both be wrong.
