If you can find a copy of the book written by William Buchele, there are some drawings in there. The title was "Recreating the American Longrifle". Maybe in your library.

Check out Track of the Wolf. IIRC thy have full scale drawings of lots of guns. I have one of an English sporting rifle hanging on my wall to try to motivate me to build one some day.
